The purpose of this itinerary is to provide an independent self-drive program for a family and where you will have the opportunity to stay in fabulous properties and enjoy those precious moments of being together and relaxed. This itinerary covers Lisbon, the capital of Portugal where your family can decide if you will have more free time on your own or if you wish to take some suggested and fun activities while in the city. After Lisbon, you'll explore the South of Portugal, suitable for the desire of staying by the beach (in our famous Algarve) and also having a great experience off-the-beaten track in Alentejo countryside.

Day 1 - Arrival in Lisbon, car rental collection and departure to your hotel in Lisbon. (Optional: Moto Side Car to discover Lisbon).

Accommodation for 3 nights at Pestana Palace*****

Day 2 - Discover the city of Lisbon… (Optional: Private Yacht Sailing at the Tagus River for a different visit of Lisbon). In the afternoon you will make a Private Half Day Tour with guide.

Day 3 - Today you will discover the village of Sintra and the Estoril Coast on your own.

Day 4 - Hotel Check-out and proceed to Alentejo to visit Évora where we suggest you to have lunch (not included). Then you shall proceed to the Algarve.

Day 5 - Free Day at the Hotel in Algarve. Possibility for some outdoor activities (Bird watching, Hiking guided tours, Dolphin watching or Yacht charter), please consult us.

Day 6 - Free Day at the Hotel in Algarve to enjoy the stay. For outdoor activities, please consult us.

Day 7 - In the morning, proceed to São Lourenço do Barrocal. Biking and Picnic in the afternoon at the Estate. Suggested Dinner at the Estate (not included).

Day 8 - Enjoy the property and late in the morning, departure north and return to Lisbon.

Day 9 - Hotel Check-out and proceed to Lisbon airport. Car delivery at the airport.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please note that due to the increasing popularity of the town of Sintra, during high season (May - September), traffic jams are to occur and may cause you some inconveniences. As an alternative, we strongly recommend a full-day private tour with driver and guide. Your visit will be more comfortable and peaceful with a driver who will take care of all the logistics.

Lisbon, capital of Portugal, located at the mouth of the Tagus River and from where the Portuguese boats set sail overseas in the 15^th and 16^th centuries towards East. At that time, the Maritime Discoveries period, the city became the center of a large empire, still visible in the monuments of Belém section. Well known for its historic traditional neighborhoods you'll be amazed with the sections of Chiado, Bairro alto and Alfama as well as the Castle of Saint George and the gorgeous views you can enjoy from the top of its hill.

Sintra and Estoril Coast. Among the sites you shall not miss in Portugal there's Sintra, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for the great beauty of its nature and architecture, with fairy tale palaces and lush vegetation. Cascais and Estoril Coast are places of charm and aristocratic traditions that you'll meet along the Atlantic Ocean, the white sandy beaches and magnificent fortresses from the 17^th century.

Alentejo is the widest region of Portugal. Here the landscape is "gentle" composed by rolling hills covered by cork oak trees, vineyards and wheat fields. The lifestyle is serene in the small villages with white washed houses where the time slowly passes by… The gastronomy is robust and creative with wines to match it, in contrast with the calmness of the local people of the region.

Évora is a beautiful small town in the Alentejo region. Still surrounded by the old walls it is a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and will attract you for its medieval appearance, the narrow streets, the historic centre and the kindness of the locals. Amongst several interesting monuments, you shall not miss the Roman Temple from the 1^st century, unique of this kind in both Portugal and Spain. This is also the perfect place for a great gastronomic and wine experience, as this is one of the regions in Portugal with more traditional and quality at this level. You shall not miss the opportunity of having a meal in one of the city's restaurants.

Monsaraz is an ancient medieval village surrounded by walls, with narrow streets and beautiful monuments made with whitewashed schist stone. From its castle and walls you can sight marvelous landscapes, with the rural fields and the surprising Alqueva Lake at the distance.

Algarve is the most famous summer retreat in Portugal with the best beaches. From the magnificent white sandy beaches to the rocky coastline and steep cliffs, Algarve is diverse with gorgeous coastal landscapes. Nightlife and animation is something that you can enjoy in this region too. This region is the most famous place in Portugal to play golf, having numerous fields of worldwide renowned quality.
