Pure fun & relaxation at the Serra da Estrela Mountain

Day 1 to day 4– Arrival to Lisbon and car collection at the Airport. Departure to Serra da Estrela (Manteigas).

After collecting your car at the airport you should start our journey heading to the Serra da Estrela mountain to Manteigas. The Serra da Estrela is the highest mountain in Portugal being, for natural and historical reasons, one of the most peaceful areas of Portugal where you and your family can just relax to the pace and sound of nature. During the winter time the snow will be perfect for a skying adventure while during the summer the hiking and biking trails await you and your loved ones. This mountainous area is composed mainly by granite generating low vegetation and typical fauna from altitude area that you can admire during your stay in this area. Its shaped cliffs and gorges, mountain streams and lakes, beautiful forests and magnificent views, transform the area into one of Portugal’s most visited attractions.

Day 4 to day 7– Departure to Lapa dos Dinheiros

The arrival at Casas da Lapa Mourisca will take you to a traditional Portuguese village in the mountain of Serra da Estrela where time has slowed down and the pace of life is commanded by the rhythm of nature. Around this village there is plenty to do and see either admiring the walls of the amazingly well preserved village of Linhares da Beira; enjoying the flavours of the Serra da Estrela cheese in Celorico da Beira produced from raw yew's milk in a tradition that has been going on for centuries or even learning about the history of bread and its use in the Bread Museum in Seia.

Three nights’ accommodation in Casas da Lapa Mourisca (Lapa dos Dinheiros)

Day 7 – Departure to Lisbon and overnight at hotel in the city

Today it will be the time to return to the capital of Portugal: Lisbon. If you still want to enjoy the rest of the day exploring the surroundings of the Hotel or just relaxing make sure you leave at least some time to explore Lisbon. Lisbon is a lively European capital where present and past live just side by side. Here you will have the opportunity to visit the largest Aquarium in Europe: the "Oceanário" (your children will be amazed) or to climb up the walls of the Saint George Castle at the top of the highest hill of Lisbon. If you still have time have a look at the area of Belém where hundreds of years of history await you in the monuments that celebrate the Portuguese discoveries of the past.
